Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer 1da Banton returns with a vibrant new single, “Woza,” released via Squareball Entertainment under exclusive license to Sony Music Entertainment France. The track, produced by DJ Lewis, follows the success of 1da Banton’s 2025 EP Walk With Me and further cements his status as one of Afrobeats’ most genre-fluid and dynamic voices.

Titled after the Zulu word for “come,” “Woza” is a dancefloor-ready Afrobeats banger driven by talking drums, a captivating hook, and precise, polished production. 1da Banton’s smooth yet commanding delivery brings lyrical depth and melodic finesse, blending rhythmic storytelling with raw emotion—a signature of his sound since his breakout hit No Wahala in 2021. That single, later remixed with Kizz Daniel and Tiwa Savage, has since amassed over 200 million streams on Spotify and introduced 1da Banton to a global audience.

“Woza” was first teased by the Port Harcourt-born artist on April 23 via X, where he posted a nostalgic video alongside the announcement “WOZA🧨 OUT NOW!!” The buzz intensified when Davido, amidst promoting his own 5ive album, publicly endorsed the release on April 24. 1da Banton acknowledged the rare show of industry support, highlighting the mutual respect among Afrobeats’ leading voices.

The new single continues a prolific run for 1da Banton, whose recent releases—including Digest, Paid in Full, and the EP Walk With Me—showcase his ability to move fluidly between reggae, dancehall, Afrobeats, and traditional influences from Rivers State. Since his move to Lagos in 2014 and the release of The Banton EP in 2017, which featured Way Up, the theme song for Big Brother Naija Season 3, he has been a steady force in African music. His 2021 album Original Vibe Machine marked another high point, with collaborations featuring Stonebwoy, Zlatan, and Kranium, and his music appearing in the 2023 season of Ted Lasso.

With “Woza,” 1da Banton continues to define his lane in the evolving Afrobeats landscape—bold, global, and deeply rooted in his culture. As the song gains traction across streaming platforms and DJ playlists, the anticipation builds for more from an artist whose journey is just beginning to hit full stride.

“Woza” is available now on all major digital platforms.
