Bright Homenyah, professionally known as Article Wan, has emphasized the critical need for substantial investments in Ghana’s music industry. The acclaimed musician believes that with significant investment, Ghana’s music scene has the potential to reach the same level of global recognition as Nigerian music.

Article Wan highlighted the abundance of talent and potential within Ghana’s music industry, emphasizing that with the right financial support, the country’s music scene could soar to new heights and compete on a global scale. He drew attention to the dominance of Nigerian music in the Afrobeats market, attributing it to the substantial investment that has amplified the reach and impact of Nigerian music worldwide.

“Most of the Ghanaian artistes fund their activities, so it is even difficult to compare the two countries. There are a lot of good acts in Ghana, including the upcoming ones that are left to rot in Ghana because of the lack of support. But even with the investment, you need a touch of grace to still make it out there,” he said

In his statement, Article Wan acknowledged the efforts of Ghanaian musicians in striving for global recognition but stressed the necessity of substantial investments to amplify their impact. He pointed out that many Ghanaian artists fund their own activities, making it challenging to compare the music industries of the two countries. Article Wan expressed concern for the talented artists in Ghana, including emerging talents, who face limitations due to the lack of adequate support.

While acknowledging the achievements of artists such as Black Sherif, Fameye, Gyakie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie in elevating Ghanaian music to the global stage, Article Wan emphasized the urgent need for substantial investments to further propel the industry’s growth and impact.
