Hawaiian reggae artist Azato and Tongan singer-songwriter Aisea Taimani are celebrating the power of gratitude with their heartfelt new single, GIVE THNX. This marks the first collaboration between these two brothers in spirit, whose 25-year friendship has culminated in a deeply meaningful track that emphasizes the joy found in embracing a mindset of thankfulness.
Produced by Chris DʻMeek from Nigeria, GIVE THNX blends global influences with Polynesian roots, resulting in a rich, soulful reggae anthem. The song’s artwork reflects the Polynesian cultural “honi,” a traditional greeting where people press noses and inhale simultaneously, symbolizing the exchange of “ha” (the breath of life) and “mana” (spiritual power). This visual perfectly encapsulates the song’s themes of unity and shared humanity.
“Gratitude is more than words of appreciation—it’s a heart posture,” says Azato. “GIVE THNX is about finding joy in every moment, even the challenging ones.”
Azato, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and bandleader from Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, brings decades of experience to this track. Having toured with reggae legends such as Steel Pulse, Toots and the Maytals, and Damian Marley, Azato is no stranger to spreading messages of love and hope through his music. His 2018 debut solo album, Love Is the Conqueror, earned widespread acclaim, and his highly anticipated second album, Bridges Not Walls, is set for release later this year.
Aisea Taimani, a singer-songwriter from the Bay Area with deep Tongan roots, complements Azato’s reggae stylings with his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyricism. Together, their voices weave a powerful narrative of resilience and gratitude that transcends borders.
