Born and raised in Enugu State, Nigeria, Charles is the first son of the legendary Nigerian musician William Onyeabor, whose pioneering sound left a lasting mark on African music. After relocating to Italy in 2003, Charles was quickly captivated by the country’s rich culture, cuisine, and style — a love affair that has shaped his life and music. His passion for sound only deepened as he recalled watching his father rehearse and compose, experiences that continue to inspire his musical direction today.
What sets Charles Onyeabor apart is his refusal to be boxed into a single genre. “If my musical inspiration comes in reggae, I will deliver it in reggae. If it comes in blues, R&B, or Afrobeat, that’s how I will deliver it,” he explains.
