Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Davido, has expressed his admiration and congratulations to Stonebwoy for his historic wins at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, held on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Stonebwoy, an internationally acclaimed musician, achieved a significant milestone by being honored with the prestigious Artiste of the Year award. This recognition comes after a remarkable year, during which he headlined multiple sold-out shows across the continent and released several hit singles and an album.
Stonebwoy’s Artiste of the Year win marks his second time receiving this esteemed recognition, solidifying his position as one of Ghana’s most outstanding artists.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, Stonebwoy was also awarded his 8th Reggae & Dancehall Artiste of the Year title, the highest number of wins in that category by any artist. His collaboration with multi-Grammy award-winning singer Angelique Kidjo on the song “Manodzi” garnered multiple awards, including Best International Collaboration, Record of the Year, and Best Songwriter of the Year. Furthermore, his album “5th Dimension” was honored as the Best Album of the Year.
Stonebwoy’s collaboration with KiDi on the track “Likor” also earned the duo the title of Best Collaboration of the Year.
During the awards ceremony, Stonebwoy delivered a highly-rated performance, offering attendees a unique and memorable experience. He showcased fan favorites from his catalog, including “Apotheke,” “Manodzi,” “Ekelebe,” and “Overlord,” while also treating the audience to unreleased singles.
