A cryptic move by Nigerian singer and producer Davido has sparked speculations after he shocked fans by deleting almost 4,000 photos on Instagram.

Will Davido be returning to social media any time soon? As of Wednesday, March 16, the 30-year-old Superstar’s verified account on the social media platform had only three images left: his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke who died last October, his historic performance at the World Cup closing ceremony last year and a photo of himself and wife, Chioma.

The erasure of these images along with his profile picture on the app has sparked mixed reactions from his fans. While some have predicted that the move could signal the return to social media, others worry that it could have a lot to do with his mental health after the passing of his son, Ifeanyi.

However, there has not been any official statement from his camp on the matter despite reports earlier that he could return to social media in March. His personal logistics manager, Afeare Isreal, popularly known as Isreal DMW also cleared all photos on his Instagram in solidarity with his label boss.

The founder and CEO of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) who was an ardent enthusiast on social media apps and used the platform to document his life as well as engage with fans has been absent from the public eye since the unfortunate incident.

He was spotted in Osun State at the inauguration of his uncle Ademola Adeleke as governor and his second appearance in Qatar for the FIFA 2022 World Cup finale.
