DJ Azonto, Ghana’s renowned Amapiano artist, has made a statement regarding the increased popularity of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after the use of his song “Fa No Fom” at political events. DJ Azonto claims that his musical prowess has not only boosted the Vice President’s popularity but has also made him more likable among the youth.

During an interview on the Central Prime Time show, DJ Azonto emphasized the significant impact of his music on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s political events. He stated, “Ever since Dr. Bawumia used ‘Fa No Fom’ in his campaign, his popularity has soared. People are singing it everywhere, and it’s become an anthem! I made Dr. Bawumia more popular than ever before.”

DJ Azonto expressed his expectation of compensation for the use of his song, initially requesting $10 million. He firmly believes that his work deserves acknowledgment and proper reward, stating, “Music isn’t just entertainment; it’s my livelihood. When my work is used on such a grand stage, it deserves proper acknowledgment and reward.”

The management of DJ Azonto, Rolls Royce Family, has urged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team to respect Ghana’s copyright laws and address the unauthorized use of the song. They emphasize the importance of recognizing and respecting intellectual property rights.

While DJ Azonto appreciates the positive message that Dr. Bawumia is spreading, he hopes that his request for compensation will be honored. He believes that respect should extend to recognizing the value of each other’s work and hopes for a fair and timely settlement.
