Following the success of his smash single ‘My Lady (I Sabi)’, which has amassed over 8 million plays online. Birmingham-based Nigerian Afropop sensation DKIZZ is excited to unveil his new track titled ‘Merci’ which he unites with UK Platinum producer JBmadeit.
This offering comes just before his highly anticipated debut EP “Sabi Boy”. ‘Merci’ comes accompanied by a captivating video visualiser that brings the melodious track to life. ‘Merci’ is a thrilling dance floor filler propelled by lush percussion arrangements and organic piano chords that showcase the song’s melodic vibe and Afrobeats sensibilities. It was written and composed by Dkizz, with production from platinum producer JBmadeit, and it was engineered by Grammy-winning engineer VTek.
Coming from a place of trying to get the attention of his love interest in his previous single “My Lady”, Dkizz is ready to go all out to profess his undying love and how he wants to live his life to the fullest. The accompanying video visualiser was shot in Brighton, UK. It is a blend of performance shots on the streets of Brighton with a romantic beach scene where he is seen having a good time with his Lady. It’s a euphoric song with an upbeat afro-beat rhythm that emphasises positive feelings of love and happiness. It has a vintage afrobeat rhythm which he shows off his vulnerability in this track with his captivating lyrics while still maintaining his irresistible star power. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Merci’, Dkizz says,
“I had always wanted to work with JBmadeit so when we linked up it was vibes. I played him a couple unreleased music which gave him an idea of where my mind was at, and then we created “Merci” from the scratch. At the time, I had recently released My Lady, which took off instantly on TikTok and had a lot of love from my female followers. I got involved in a lot of intense emotional situations, but the lyrics on the track were inspired by a special someone. I wrote ‘Merci’ from a very intentional point of mind of which I expressed all the feelings I felt just as it is in the track.”
Setting himself apart as one to watch in 2023, Dkizz prepares to release his highly anticipated debut EP “Sabi Boy” which comes with his first headline concert “The Sabi Rave”. The Project stamps his identity in the industry as the SABI BOY who is confident to take on the world with his captivating Afrobeats sound.

Daniel Abere, popularly known as Dkizz, is a Nigerian-born Afro-pop singer and songwriter based in the United Kingdom. The exciting musical act began his musical journey at 15 after discovering his ability to play a variety of musical instruments at his family church. After going through that phase and seeing how much people enjoyed his little freestyles and raps, he decided to take it seriously and then started dropping some of his freestyles and recordings on Soundcloud.
