Ghanaian singer-songwriter Elsie Raad unveils her deeply personal new single “Run”, a hauntingly beautiful meditation on loss, self-preservation, and the courage to walk away. Produced by renowned Accra-based producer Mike Mills with co-production by Elsie herself, the track transforms profound grief into an empowering musical statement.
“Run” explores the painful yet necessary act of releasing what no longer serves you. Using the ocean as a metaphor – both breathtakingly beautiful and potentially destructive – Elsie crafts a poignant narrative about recognizing when love has become dangerous to your wellbeing.

“This song came from my deepest moment of grief,” confesses Elsie. “But it’s not about running away – it’s about standing strong as you let something powerful leave your life before it destroys you. That shift from ‘running from the ocean’ to ‘letting the ocean run from me’ became the song’s emotional core.”
