Ghanaian Hiplife artist Peter Famiyeh Bozah, popularly known as Fameye, has unveiled the personal inspiration behind one of his well-loved songs, “Menkwa.”

The track, which is part of Fameye’s acclaimed album “Songs of Peter” released in 2022, has garnered significant praise from music enthusiasts. “Menkwa” begins with an introduction depicting a troubled individual, setting the tone for the heartfelt lyrics that follow.

In an interview on Asaase Radio, Fameye disclosed that the song was born out of personal struggles he was facing, both within his family and in his personal life. The song’s emotional resonance was partly influenced by his own experiences, as well as a connection he felt with Kofi B’s “Mobrowa.”

“I think at the time I had issues with one of my family members and also I was going through something personally,” Fameye shared. “So that day I was listening to ‘Mobrowa’ by Kofi B and I had the major inspiration from that song connecting to what I was going through by myself and with my family member.”
