The festival has also added artists like DBN Gogo and Kelvin Momo to their special Piano People stage, an area dedicated to spotlighting the South African piano genre.

Founded to unite the diaspora in celebration of Black Joy’s return to Portugal in 2019, the Miami-set festival will follow up wildly successful installments in Portugal, Ghana, and Puerto Rico. The Miami installment will continue to highlight some of the leading artists in Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, and other black-led genres.

Day one of Afro Nation Miami will be headlined by Nigerian singer Burna Boy, who released his sixth studio album, Love, Damini,” in July. Day two will be headed by another Nigerian artist, Wizkid. The singer recently released his newest album, More Love, Less Ego, solidifying his position as an Afrobeats tastemaker and the most-streamed Nigerian musician of all time on Spotify.
