Peckham singer-songwriter Gabzy has teamed up with JayO and Odeal for their new single, “Too Fine.” Produced by RZ, known for JayO’s hit single “22,” the beat offers the perfect backdrop for all three artists to display their sultry, distinctive vocals. These emerging talents are some of the UK’s most exciting musical prospects, each pioneering their lane within the RnB, Alté, and Afro-swing genres. With “Too Fine,” they have crafted a track that perfectly captures the essence of admiration and attraction. The sleek VEVO video accompanying the release showcases Gabzy, Jayo, and Odeal dressed in white, exuding undeniable swagger as they take turns displaying the melodies and vocals that set them apart in the scene.

Hailing from Peckham, South East London, the 28-year-old vocalist was nurtured in a Nigerian household and experienced the vibrant tapestry of New York for two transformative years. Gabzy’s rich cultural immersion has seamlessly woven a fusion of genres and influences, propelling him swiftly into the multifaceted artist he is today. Gabzy’s musical journey started at 9, harmonising in the school choir, and his exploration of diverse styles and sounds continued into his teenage years. The turning point came with his collaborative EP, ‘Summers,’ alongside Nigerian artist Melvitto, whom he had met and collaborated with in New York. The ‘Summers’ project thrust him into the spotlight and cultivated a dedicated fan base (2.7 Million monthly listeners), in the UK and beyond. Gabzy then unveiled his debut solo EP, ‘Malone,’ a stellar release that paved the way for a triumphant headline show at North London’s prestigious Islington Assembly Hall, which sold out in seconds.

Throughout his career, Gabzy has carved a niche as the king of melodies, solidifying his status as a hitmaker through notable collaborations with Darkoo, Blanco, Abra Cadabra, King Promise and Odeal. Gabzy’s remarkable career boasts co-signs from tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1, MTV Base, BBC 1Xtra, Complex, Notion, Wonderland, Guap magazine. His last solo EP, ‘At The End of the Night’, was followed by a UK tour culminating in two consecutive sold-out nights at the iconic KOKO in London. Undeterred by a busy studio schedule last year, he released two solo singles, ‘Hear Me Out’ and ‘Jambazz’, the latter has accumulated over 8 million streams and peaked at 18 in the official UK Afrobeats radio charts. Renowned for his live performances, Gabzy orchestrated another sold-out spectacle for his fans at the esteemed Somerset House, followed by a sold-out East African tour. Gabzy has started 2024 as he means to go on, his most recent efforts, ‘Piano’ alongside Lekaa Beats and ‘X’ have garnered over 1M streams since release and created growing anticipation and excitement for another body of work in 2024.

Born in Germany, Odeal was raised in Nigeria, Spain, and the UK, and he has been immersed in diverse cultures his whole life. His varied upbringing has led to his fusion of Alte, R&B and Afro, fast-tracking him into becoming the voice to watch out for over the past few years. Along the way, Odeal has worked with artists such as Nines, Enny, K-Trap and Juls, to name a few, and has proven how valuable a verse from him can be. On his solo material, he has developed a fiercely individual sound and established himself as a formidable force, his recently acclaimed project, ‘Thoughts I Never Said,’ received co-signs from BBC Radio 1’s Victoria Jane, BBC 1xtra and Represent, and NME, Complex, Uproxx, Notion and Clash to name a few. He has since delivered a sold-out headline show at Outernet and more recently performed in Malta (DLT Brunch) and Paris (Fete De La Musique), further emphasising the growing influence of Odeal and his Ovmbr brand. Odeal has had one of the most popular COLORS performances, has racked up over 10 million plays on ‘Coffee (Don’t Read Signs)’ and placed 12 on the UK industry engagement list.

JayO is an artist on the rise in every sense. The young singer/songwriter/producer has been catapulted into the limelight via a string of infectious releases, the British-Nigerian artist’s output is hard to pin down under one specific umbrella; since his teen years, he’s been uploading tracks and tapes to the internet and teasing songs on social media over the years, trying his hand at everything from grime, hip-hop, house, R&B and Afrobeats. These days, it’s the latter two genres which take centre-stage in his sound. JayO’s first official releases, ‘XO’ and the aforementioned ‘22’, have had an especially huge reception – the former a slinky, humid track; the latter, a sexy number laden with sultry clouds of piano and sweet, delicate vocals. In the summer of 2023, he performed at the Black British cultural moment that was Stormzy’s This Is What We Mean Day and supported Nigerian Afrorave superstar Rema at his O2 show in London. On his new music, mainly working with longtime friend and producer RZ, JayO is building on the feel-good vibe, his recent singles ‘Best Interest’ alongside Juls, and ‘Reset’ featuring afrobeat stars Crayon and Bella Shmurda have created an undeniable buzz within the scene.
