Ghanaian dancehall artist J. Derobie has revealed that one of his biggest regrets in his music career is the overwhelming fame that comes with success. In a recent interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, the singer shared how public attention has significantly impacted his personal life.
Discussing the pressures of fame, J. Derobie explained that the constant spotlight can feel draining and restricting. “You just don’t have your freedom,” he admitted, emphasizing how fame often takes a toll in ways people don’t always understand.
The Poverty hitmaker also spoke about the difficulties of navigating everyday life, revealing that simple activities like buying food have become a challenge. “Sometimes when I want to buy, you hear people say, ‘Let me buy for you,’” he shared, highlighting how even small tasks now come with added attention.
Despite these challenges, J. Derobie continues to make an impact in the Ghanaian dancehall scene, staying focused on his craft while navigating the complexities of stardom
