Singer-songwriter Jay Sprouse is proud to announce the release of his latest single, “Innocent Harmony (Take Me Away),” a heartfelt track that marks a full-circle moment in his musical journey. From humble beginnings as a jobless and musically untrained individual inspired by a Tom Petty film, Jay’s dedication to music has led to this powerful and melodic release.
Back in 2008, amidst the housing crash, Jay moved to a small apartment in Farmville, VA, where he spent up to 16 hours a day teaching himself guitar and harmonica. With no formal training or outside help, he found solace in creating his own melodies, more so than playing others’ music. By 2009, Jay had recorded four songs with friends, which aired on a local Farmville station, though they remained officially unreleased.
Now, after 15 years, Jay is bringing his music back into the spotlight with “Innocent Harmony (Take Me Away)”—a track that carries the essence of his musical journey. The song showcases his raw passion, self-taught skill, and dedication to his craft. It’s a melodic and introspective piece that reflects both his artistic growth and his unwavering love for music.
