Rising hip-hop star Kiddo CSA, known for his unique flows, lively narratives and captivating performances, is set to release his latest single, “Amalanga,” featuring the soulful vocals of Anzo.
Kiddo CSA, who has garnered over 12,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and accumulated more than 934,000 career streams, continues to make waves in the South African music scene. His impressive portfolio includes over 690,000 views on YouTube and accolades such as being a cover star for the renowned South African hip-hop publication, Hype Magazine. His previous hit, “You’re Mine” featuring Monique Lawz, dominated the 5FM Night Charts for nine weeks at the #1 spot, and “HIM” also achieved the top position on the same chart.
“Amalanga” is an emotive rap-ballad that follows the success of Kiddo CSA’s street anthem “Saphalaza.” The single intricately intertwines his personal experiences with a touching narrative of love, capturing the essence of communication amidst the hustle and bustle of life. The song’s title, which translates to “days” in English, draws inspiration from a poignant Zulu custom where warriors, during battle, would write heartfelt letters and serenade their beloveds with songs of longing and devotion.
Co-written with the brilliant Baby S.O.N, “Amalanga” weaves a rich tapestry of emotions, with each verse brimming with authenticity and vulnerability. Anzo’s vocals, deeply rooted in Zulu heritage, breathe life into the track, capturing the essence of longing and connection with unparalleled finesse. Anzo, known for his collaborations with esteemed artists such as Sjava and Aubrey Qwana, adds a unique depth to the song, making “Amalanga” a lyrical diary and a silent conversation between partners.
Kiddo CSA’s recent performances at prominent events like Back to the City, Rocking The Daisies, Street Fest, and Cotton Fest have solidified his place in the music industry, and “Amalanga” is set to further elevate his career.
