Nigerian-born innovator and musician Oluwatosin ‘Mr Eazi’ Ajibade has launched a music and art exhibition experience inspired by his new album, “THE EVIL GENIUS.” The exhibition, curated with Gallery 1957 during Accra Cultural Week, celebrates themes of love, freedom, happiness, and those explored in his album.
The exhibition opened to the public on September 13, 2023, and was attended by various guests, including notable figures from the art and music industries. Gallery manager Angelica Litta Modignani expressed her excitement about hosting the exhibition, describing it as powerful and thought-provoking.

Featuring 16 pieces from 12 artists representing eight African countries, the exhibition showcases the work of talented artists selected by Mr Eazi. These artists come from diverse backgrounds, including Cotonou, Benin; Lomé, Togo; Accra, Ghana; Abuja, Nigeria; Nairobi, Kenya; Lagos, Nigeria; Cameroon; Zimbabwe/South Africa, and Dakar, Senegal.
Mr Eazi collaborated with the artists in an informal and instinctual manner, much like his musical collaborations. He reached out to artists whose work he admired, sent them his songs, and engaged in conversations about the meaning and themes of the songs. He gave the artists the freedom to create based on their interpretations.

This exhibition, which Mr Eazi worked on for over two years, serves as a platform to share his vision with the world and initiate important discussions about Contemporary African Art. Following its presentation in Accra, the exhibition will travel to London as part of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair’s Special Projects at Somerset House from October 12 to 15, 2023.
The exhibition is open to the public from September 14 to September 18, 2023, from 10 am to 7 pm
