Cameroonian artist Raizy is back with his highly anticipated third single, “CABO – Pt1,” released under EMI Sweden/Universal. This track showcases Raizy’s unique ability to blend the classic rhythms of makossa with contemporary elements of Afrobeat, soul, and pop, creating a sound that is both fresh and rooted in tradition.
“CABO – Pt1” is a smooth, horn-laced anthem that captures the essence of late summer vibes, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in its infectious groove. Raizy’s innovative approach to music reflects the rich cultural tapestry of Cameroon, a country known for its diverse musical heritage and over 250 spoken languages.
Raizy explains, “In Cameroon, there’s a lot happening locally, politically, and socially, and it contributes to what I’m doing. I want to mix makossa with trap, pop, house, and anything else I can in order to create something new. I’m going to export this sound worldwide.” His commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional music while preserving its core elements is evident in every note of “CABO – Pt1.”
Growing up in a musical household, Raizy was inspired by his father’s collection of vintage blues, country music, and makossa. This early exposure ignited his passion for music, leading him to teach himself production on FL Studio. After gaining recognition for producing tracks for various African artists, Raizy made his solo debut in 2022 with “AJOKE,” followed by successful singles like “My Sound” and “Bread,” which caught the attention of Universal Music.
With “CABO – Pt1,” Raizy continues to carve out his niche in the music industry, blending genres and creating a sound that resonates with audiences around the globe. His artistry is a testament to the power of music as a universal language, capable of bridging cultures and connecting people.
