Yungdope Releases New Afrobeats Song “Africa”


Rising Nigerian singer Yungdope has unveiled a new afrobeats song titled “Africa.” The track sets the stage for good music with its down-to-earth, straight-to-the-point lyrics and vocal brilliance. “Africa” is described as a relatable, moody, yet high-vibrations sound that resonates with listeners.

Obayemi Lekan Yusuf, popularly known as Yungdope, hails from Ogun state and was born in Lagos on October 3, 1995. His musical journey began in Surulere, where he recorded his first tape in 2012. Following the release of his debut EP “DOPAMINE,” he introduced a straight-to-the-core afrobeat tune titled “FELA.” Now, he returns shortly after with another hit afrobeat tune, singing about the trials and tribulations experienced by individuals in Africa.

Yungdope’s musical versatility became evident as he explored afrobeats music, releasing tracks like “Casted,” “Paloma,” “23“, “Money“, and “Zombie.” His talent and dedication were recognized with two award nominations after the release of his third single. Yungdope pursued his academic endeavors, studying International Relations at North American University, all while establishing himself as a musical genius, singer, songwriter, and performer who co-produces the majority of his songs.
