Yvy Maraey is back with her new single, “Coming Down,” a track that seamlessly blends contemporary R&B with tropical Brazilian rhythms. After spending the past year on a remote island in Brazil’s Northeast, Yvy has honed her sound, infusing her music with the rich percussive grooves and laid-back vibes of the region.
“Coming Down” is a nostalgic yet fresh take on classic R&B, featuring a catchy hook and soulful melodies. The single was recorded primarily in a beachside hut, with the natural sounds of the Atlantic Ocean lending a unique atmospheric quality to the track. Produced by Abelão, a Brazilian-born R&B and World crossover producer, this marks his first release, adding a distinctive layer of cultural fusion to the song. Final vocals and mixing were completed in Berlin this summer, tying together the diverse influences into a cohesive and vibrant sound.
With “Coming Down,” Yvy Maraey showcases her ability to merge expressive vocals, chill beats, and playful melodies into a tropical R&B anthem. The single is part of her upcoming debut EP, created in collaboration with Simon Abela, a New Zealand-born producer, adding a global touch to her already eclectic style.
