Rising Nigerian star ZeXzy has unleashed his electrifying new single “Sidanponi”, a sultry summer anthem that blends Afrobeats with global pop influences. Following his massive collaboration with hip-hop superstar Quavo and accumulating 35 million streams across platforms, this release cements ZeXzy’s status as one of Africa’s most innovative emerging artists.
Born Uwaifo Williams Aituae in Benin City, ZeXzy crafts a uniquely borderless sound on “Sidanponi”. The track’s closing refrain “JANIMA” (Indian for ‘my love’) underscores its global ambitions, making it equally at home in Bollywood films, beach parties, and nightclubs worldwide.
“This song is pure seduction,” ZeXzy explains. “It’s about that magnetic attraction where you just want someone to ‘sit down on it’ and stay close. But beyond the playfulness, it represents how far I’ve come – from losing my voice to finding my sound.”
ZeXzy’s journey mirrors his music’s resilience. After losing his singing voice for 15 years and battling depression, the Maple Grove Entertainment artist fought back to create music that defies genres and expectations. Inspired by icons like Michael Jackson, 2Pac, and Tuface Idibia, his work blends deeply personal storytelling with universal appeal.
