Rising Nigerian hip-hop artist Zyno has officially dropped his highly anticipated EP, “Street Goes To Church”
Born Urama Henry Olisaemeka in Nkpor, Anambra State, Nigeria, Zyno is the youngest member of a family of four. At the youthful age of 19, he has emerged as a remarkable force in the Nigerian music scene, pushing the boundaries by seamlessly blending Christian worship with street music, creating a sound that’s nothing short of captivating.
Rooted in a family with a rich musical tradition and influenced by renowned Nigerian hip-hop artists such as Mr. Raw, MI, Phyno, Flavour, and Jeriq, Zyno embarked on his musical journey early in life. However, it was in 2018, during his SS1 year, that he wholeheartedly committed himself to his craft, igniting his passion for music.
Zyno’s unique fusion of Christian worship and street music sets him apart from his peers. He has found a way to harmoniously combine these seemingly contrasting genres, crafting music that resonates deeply with audiences and establishing himself as a trailblazer in the industry.
Zyno made a resounding entrance with his debut single, “Olisa,” featuring Jeriq. This track, skillfully sampling Mercy Chinwo’s gospel hit “Excess Love” over a Drill sound, rapidly went viral, firmly cementing Zyno’s status as an emerging star.
The EP, “Street Goes To Church,” is a game-changer, featuring six dynamic songs. Half of the tracks expertly blend Christian worship with street vibes, while the remainder explores Afrobeat and Ama Piano genres. This fusion underscores Zyno’s versatility and innovation as an artist.
Following the EP’s release, Zyno’s second single, “Blessings,” is now available, further elevating the anticipation surrounding his music. With aspirations of gracing global stages, building a devoted fan base, and achieving widespread recognition, Zyno is undeniably a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry.
