Rising artist-producer Jaeschel returns with a deeply emotional new single, “GMAB (Give Me A Break),” a cinematic and prayerful composition that blurs the line between lament and worship.
Built around expansive strings, layered harmonies, and sweeping orchestral textures, “GMAB” captures the sound of confession and surrender. Jaeschel’s voice moves from hushed vulnerability to cathartic release as he pleads, “Lord, give me a break.” The record is anchored in Ghanaian spirituality, weaving in Twi invocations like “Nyame Kɛseɛ” (Great God) and “Yehowa Rapha” (God who heals), grounding its universal message of exhaustion and faith in rich cultural roots.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, and currently a jumper/sprinter at Harvard University, Jaeschel is as multidimensional as his music. Beyond his artistry, he envisions “the Avenue” — a creative world where people are not defined by wealth or status, but by their willingness to explore and take risks. “Some roads may lead to breakthroughs, others to dead ends,” he reflects, “but the freedom to walk is what defines us.”
With “GMAB,” Jaeschel cements his place as a visionary voice merging faith, vulnerability, and artistry into something timeless — a sonic prayer for anyone seeking relief amid life’s weight.
